After taking a break to spend time with my daughter I wanted to get back to designing. My 90-year-old (yoga teacher/knitting enthusiast/painter/book club host/…) neighbor inspired me to start my own company.
It wasn’t easy, but it was very exciting! I set it all up. Then came the part of – how do I get projects? I got my first project through simply approaching someone who was talking about how they were looking for an interaction designer. They loved my work so much that they kept hiring me for multiple projects. The rest of my customers/projects were all through word of mouth! Before I knew it, my days were packed.
If I didn’t step out of my comfort zone and experiment, I would never have known what I was missing out on.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Rutu and her team for over two years. Rutu is a true professional in her discipline. Here are a few examples.
